A young, fresh Joni Mitchell, Birdy is the anti-Cher Lloyd.

Birdy
WHEN Birdy, real name Jasmine Van den Bogaerde, released her debut single-a haunting cover of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love-the music world was shocked that such a soulful, controlled voice belonged to a 14-year-old school girl.
With the fourth single from her self-titled album due for release this month, Birdy is sure to climb the charts again with her collection of thoughtful and arresting covers.
Without a Word is the only original track on the album and foreshadows good things to come from the teenager, who has said she won’t be doing much songwriting of her own until her GCSEs are finished.
A young, fresh Joni Mitchell, Birdy is the anti-Cher Lloyd.
