We were very happy to welcome visitors to the studio in Huntingdon on December 10 for our Open Day.

Mince pies, coffee and nibbles were provided for all who came. We were also thrilled that the mayor of Huntingdon, Councillor David Landon Cole popped in and he spent much of his valuable time chatting with us.

Many of those who came along were also able to record a Christmas message that we will play on our daytime shows over the Christmas period.

On Christmas Eve, we will be broadcasting the midnight communion from All Saints Church in the Market Square, Huntingdon.

The broadcast will start at 11pm with some Christmas music until the service begins at 11:30pm.

If you normally attend in person but are unable to do so this year, please do listen to the broadcast and partake in the message of Christmas.

On Christmas Day, His Majesty the King will continue that great British tradition of speaking to the nation, as his mother did before him.

If the television is off while you are finishing your Christmas dinner, do listen at 3pm  online, FM, or via your smart speaker! (you just need to say 'play Huntingdon Community Radio').

Listen up too, to our Christmas Panto, produced by Sue Rodwell Smith, our head of drama.

The show is the work of Wavelengths Productions, the group that also is responsible for our award-winning weekly radio ‘soap’ Huntsford.

And on that note - did you know we broadcast an ‘omnibus’ edition of Huntsford every Sunday afternoon at around 3.25pm? Catch up on Sundays if you miss the two episodes that are broadcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We look forward to family time at Christmas and we thank all our volunteers for the tireless work they do, week in, week out. And to all our listeners a friends, a very Happy Christmas.
