Under-11 Need'worth and Bluntisham 329-3 Houghton and Wyton 158-15 THE incredible Tommy McCartney took five wickets without conceding a run from three overs to see Needingworth and Bluntisham to a handsome victory. McCartney's super show, which included a hat-trick spread across two overs, followed his team's excellent batting performance. All four of Needingworth and Bluntisham's pairs put on at least 25 runs in compiling a massive 329-3. Sam Hirons and Tyler Elstub were particularly impressive as they hit 43 from their five overs. And the winning team's bowling was impressively straight as they shared 15 wickets between their seven bowlers. Many will see the losing margin of 171 runs to be harsh on Houghton and Wyton, who played with a fantastic spirit throughout. Under-13 Alconbury 73-9 Ramsey 77-2 RAMSEY'S Tom Dimmock dominated the bowling, taking 5-11, including three wickets in four deliveries, to secure a handsome win for Ramsey. Six players chipped in for Alconbury with scores of nine or less. The two top boys were A Hawthorn and A McGee. After Dimmock's super show, Ashley Wells restricted the early tempo with 0-10-4 and Elliot Smith (3-17-4) inflicted further damage. Ramsey captain Dan Malem had figures of 0-13-4 and the other wicket was Scott Hicksons' clean bowling of A Muffett. Ramsey's reply came at a steady pace as Smith and Wells put on 30 for the first wicket. Smith and Malem then continued taking the attack, with some fierce hitting by Malem in his 35 not out. Smith was bowled on 21 in the 13th over which left Malem to hit a big six to complete the game in style. Under-15 Upwood 50 Ramsey 53-7 RAMSEY completed a third win in three days, beating Upwood in a low-scoring match. Upwood batted first and were all out for 50. R Sayer top-scored for the Us with 16. Best bowling by far from the Rams came from Jordan Webb with outstanding figures of 7-12-3.3. The Rams made a tense thing of it in their response, losing steady wickets as Upwood applied pressure. Seven Ramsey wickets fell before the home side reached their goal with three wickets to spare. Dan Malem top-scored with 14. Under-15 St Ives 80 Huntingdon 62 ST IVES won a game dominated by the bowlers on Sunday, with extras the top scorer for both teams.
