Cup Final
Yaxley 2 St Neots Town 1
YAXLEY came from behind to deny Saints league cup glory.
Chances came for both teams from the opening whistle as the game flowed from end to end.
It was St Neots who got the early breakthrough as a defensive error from Yaxley saw Steve Kuhne cross the ball in for Gary Walker, who fired home.
Mark Paul then twice came close to closing the gap for Yaxley before top-scorer Kuhne nearly scored with an ambitious overhead kick.
It was Town's turn to make an error next, a poor clearance giving Yaxley a chance to level the scores.
Saints keeper Steve Young was tested early in the second half and it took a reflex clearance from defender Russell Lawes to save St Neots.
Walker then nearly scored another at the other end as the tension built-up.
But it was Yaxley who got the breakthrough four minutes from time to disappoint Town.
