Huntingdon man Danny King saw his hopes of reaching the Final of the Speedway World Cup ended last night.

King was part of the Great Britain team that was beaten into second place by Poland in the Race-Off in Denmark.

King scored seven points from his five rides at the Vojens track as the Brits finished on 43 – five behind the Poles.

There will still be one Huntingdon representative in the Final tomorrow as Kenneth Bjerre rides for host nation Denmark against Poland, Sweden and Australia.

Meanwhile King has another major date looming large as he rides in the British Final at Wolverhampton on Monday.
