LAST season's Godmanchester Rovers captain Stuart Wood has agreed to rejoin the squad following the departure of manager Ian Jackson.
Joint managers Karly Hurst and Eric Cheesewright have persuaded Wood to sign and he is in the squad for tonight's second game of the season.
Rovers travel to Saffron Walden Town tonight in their first fixture since August 12.
Hurst said: "We're still looking to add some experience to the squad and we've got one or two names in the pipeline.
"It's a bonus to have Stuart back in the squad and Barry Thompson has agreed to play for us again.
"Walden have had a good start to the season and it's going to be a tough game but out young lads are raring to go. It feels like we're starting the season again because the gap since the last game has been so long so hopefully we can start afresh.
