WISBECH Rugby Club held a junior rugby tournament on March 1.

Teams from across East Anglia competed in the under-13 and U14 sections but there was no representation for the home club, with Cambridge winning both events.

Wisbech head coach Steve Drawbridge said: "I estimate there were more than 900 people there and it is a massive credit to everyone at the club for putting on such a big event for the town."

Wisbech did have U8 A and B teams in action in Ely and King's Lynn respectively. The A team reached the semi-finals of the Cambridgeshire Cup before losing 8-5 to Saffron Walden whilst the B team lost 7-5 and 2-1 to Diss A and 11-7 and 6-3 against Norfolk A.
