PUPILS at Earith Primary School displayed their sporting talents by finishing first in the Huntingdon area kwik cricket tournament.

The squad of 10 competed against six other Cambridgeshire primary schools to secure a win in the Hunts Cricket Board Kwik Cricket tournament competition that took place in Godmanchester last month.

The team, which consists of mainly Year 6 pupils, did not fare too well in the competition last year.

However, some hard training has seen their fortunes change.

Eleanor Butcher, who led a kwik cricket training session once a week after school said: "We are all very proud of them. The team's dedication and commitment has certainly paid off this year."

All the players in the winning team were given medals.
