Huntingdon made an impressive start to the new season with a well deserved victory over Saffron Walden. Sarah Chadband opened the scoring just before half-time before scoring again early in the second half after good work from Pam Begg. Soon after captain Joan Griffith's extended Huntingdon's lead with a short corner goal.
In the final 20 minutes Huntingdon tired, letting Saffron Walden back into the match with two late goals, but the home side held on. Player of the match was Alice Edwards for her tireless work in midfield.
