ANTHONY Watling was the star performer for Browning Stanjay as the team maintained second position in the Nene Summer League.

Sunday's second round of the league was fished on the upper river sections, with the team match again won by Van Den Eynde, formerly Essex County.

With three section wins, Van Den Eynde is well ahead of the other teams - but there was good news for the Browning Stanjay aggressor team, who finished in a clear second place for the second time, and are now well clear in second in the league.

The team put in a very solid performance with the best points from Watling, who finished second in section, and sixth in the match.

There is another practice match this Sunday before two consecutive match weeks to decide the series.

THE Little and Large series reaches its conclusion on Saturday. Last week's match was won by Terry Allgood, with 24lb 9oz from peg seven - which was also one of the golden pegs.

Graham Gooddraw was second, with Keith Ellington coming in third position and Stan taking the small fish prize.

Dave Silsby is still ahead in the series, though he could be overtaken with the right combination of results on Saturday.

SUNDAY'S match on Ramsey Narrows was won by Paul Kilby in a close finish with Keith Rayment, while Steve Fryer finished in third place.

SUNDAY'S drawn pairs was won by Dave Jarrett with an excellent 25lb.

Kevin Gaunt was second, with Andy and Tony Ingram finishing third and fourth.

With Dave and Kevin drawn together, the result of the pairs was a foregone conclusion.
