Tucker Division 2 Godmanchester II 155-9 Waresley 156-3 Waresley won by seven wickets IMPRESSIVE bowling from Waresley's Nigel Buckingham-Jones and half centuries from Steve Warman (51) and David Sharp (56 not out) ensured that the visitors came away victorious on Saturday. Godmanchester started reasonably well with Paul Berrill (20) and James Howells (22) opening brightly followed by Adam Cousins weighing in with 22 runs. Buckingham-Jones then went on to spoil the party by ripping through three middle order batsmen for just eight runs. Wayne Bradley then stood strong to get 45 not out and restore hope for the home side before Buckingham-Jones took his sixth and final wicket of the day by forcing a catch from number eight Robert Howells. Godmanchester then went on to pick up a further 21 runs by the end of the 48 overs. Waresley's opening batsmen Warman and Sharp clearly meant business by slogging 11 fours between them on their way to individual half centuries ,with Warman also picking up three sixes before he was dismissed by a Matt Durrant catch from a Bradley ball. The damage had already been done by that point and a further 31 runs from Vince Winn helped the visitors on their way to a comfortable victory with six wickets to spare.
