WARESLEY II struggled to chase down their target as they lost out to Huntingdon I by 40 runs in Hunts Division One on Saturday.

Simon Blows (5-46) took regular wickets throughout, but Yasir Shafiq (56) and Shazad Khan (51), helped Huntingdon rack up 226 all out in 41.4 overs.

In the chase, Waresley could not get up to the required run rate and though Stephen Lewis (46) scored swiftly, they totalled just 186-6 in their 48 overs, with Huntingdon’s Joel Marion (2-30) the top bowler.

Waresley I had a better weekend, securing second place in Tucker Two after cruising against Weston Colville.
