WARESLEY II struggled to chase down their target as they lost out to Huntingdon I by 40 runs in Hunts Division One on Saturday. Simon Blows (5-46) took regular wickets throughout, but Yasir Shafiq (56) and Shazad Khan (51), helped Huntingdon rack up 226 all out in 41.4 overs. In the chase, Waresley could not get up to the required run rate and though Stephen Lewis (46) scored swiftly, they totalled just 186-6 in their 48 overs, with Huntingdons Joel Marion (2-30) the top bowler. Waresley I had a better weekend, securing second place in Tucker Two after cruising against Weston Colville. Chris Whitfield (59) was the top batsman as Waresley struck 234-8, then turned destroyer with the ball in hand to collect 4-44. Laurence Bosher (3-42) and Phil Gillett (2-18) also claimed wickets as basement boys Weston stalled at 150 all out.
