Twin brothers Alex and Lawrie Marsh hit centuries in the same game to help Buckden move a step closer to promotion last Saturday.

Alex plundered 123 and Lawrie was unbeaten on 103 as the village side thumped Huntingdon & District 2nds by 202 runs to go 10 points clear at the top of Hunts League Division Three.

“They’ve both hit centuries before,” said club chairman Tony Cook. “But to do it on the same day is a great effort.”

Alex wasn’t done there as he delivered another century the following day when an unbeaten 105 helped Buckden 2nds beat Hampton 3rds by seven wickets in Division Five B.
