ST NEOTS produced another try fest at home against Aylestone on Saturday as they warmed up for this weekend’s trip to leaders Biggleswade in style.

They ran home 13 tries in total, with wing Martyn Allen getting the ball rolling early on.

Scrum-half Will Hall got the second from a typical quick tap penalty, following which he jinked his way through the Aylestone defence to score under the posts. Wing Adam Hanley was next on the scoresheet following well-won lineout ball from the forwards.

Some complacency allowed the visitors two converted tries and gave them a sniff, but it wasn’t long before Adam Peel ran in two scores from half way and Adam Porter finished a storming run by lock Rhod Howcroft – as the hosts led 38-12 at the break.

Direct from the kick off St Neots were on the attack again and from a lineout on the right, the ball was spun through all the backs hands to opposite winger Dan Miller, who provided an inside pass to Adam Peel to score on the right wing.

Peel then scored another following an Aylestone knock-on, which Porter picked up and passed on, and then Porter was on hand to take a pass from Howcroft.

The best score of the day followed, with fly-half Porter throwing dummy passes to both centers, before popping the ball to full back Dan Miller on the perfect line to race through the defence untouched.

With only the full back to beat and Sam Peel in support, Miller drew his man and passed outside for Peel to touch down.

With their visitors on the rack, winger Hanley came looking for the ball in mid field and managed to run in two more tries for Saints.

Adam Peel rounded things off nicely by scoring his fifth try following an Aylesford fumble on the halfway line.

Adam Porter kicked an impressive 10 conversions during the game and Phill Fernie was named as man of the match.

St Neots’ seconds were also big winners at the weekend, crushing Sawston seconds 73-13.
