A JUNIOR school is celebrating a hat-trick of sporting trophies in its final year before amalgamation. From next year Brampton Junior School will be known as Brampton Village Primary School, but the class of 2007 did the Juniors proud, winning three county-wide events. The first cup in the trophy cabinet was from the Cambridgeshire Cross County Championships, where Brampton pipped Priory Juniors to the post. Priory had won the competition for the past five years, so Brampton's year 5\/6 girls' relay team and boys' relay team had to work extra hard to secure the win. Next up was the Dickenson Cup football competition, where a fiercely-contested final against Buckden saw Brampton come out 1-0 winners. Finally, Brampton again pipped Buckden to first place in the Cambridgeshire Athletics Championships. Four gold medals, one silver and three bronzes secured the win for Brampton by just a single point. Elsewhere, the school's cricket and netball teams have had a successful season, adding up to a superb sporting year for Brampton Juniors. Sports coach Dominic Carminati said: "It has been a fantastic sporting year and every child who has represented the school at any level should feel extremely proud.
