STAGS' poor start to the season continued as they lost their sixth game on the trot. After a bright opening, Stags were soon under the cosh and the home side turned a scrum over to open their try account.
The Towcester players continued to run through the Stags Backs as though they were not there, scoring almost uncontested tries at will. When Stags came back with attacks of their own, they lacked the final finish. One Stags attack finally yielded a score but even this was a converted penalty try after a Towcester player committed a foul. Wayne Bradley stepping up to successful make the conversion.
By the time the interval arrived, Towcester had run in a further four tries and effectively ended the game as a contest with the score at the break 50-7 in their favour.
Towcester broke away to score another try and as although Stags continued to play most of their rugby in the Towcester half they were still unable to find the formula for actually scoring. The commitment to attacking play gave Towcester the opportunity to score on the break and their players ran in another three tries to give a total of four for the second half.
