Former England batsman Graham Thorpe handed over a certificate to Mr Clement at a ceremony held at the Ageas Bowl, in Hampshire, last Wednesday (August 17). Mr Clement was invited to attend the event by the ECBs coaches association and also had the chance to watch England beat Pakistan in a one-day international match. The 61-year-old has been involved in coaching since 1982 and continues to play with Godmanchesters development side on Sundays, helping younger players develop their skills. He also oversees more than a dozen youth and development sides in Huntingdonshire and admits that watching players realise their potential is the most satisfying part about his job. He said: Coaching is something I wanted to do from a young age, it was about giving something back to the game and helping others develop the ability they have. I get a buzz out of coaching. It is a real thrill to see players you have helped to develop do well, its really rewarding.
