Hunts AC star Shannon Flockhart delivered a fine performance in the English Schools’ Cross-Country Championships last Saturday.
Flockhart finished ninth out of 339 competitors in the Junior Girls race at Wollaton Park in Nottingham with a time of 13:05.
She came within one second of the top-eight finish that would have earned selection for the England team for the Schools’ International races in Scotland later this month.
But the performance highlighted her fine progress in the past year after finishing 84th in the same race 12 months earlier.
Clubmate Joey Croft also displayed a big improvement in the Intermediate Boys race, finishing 54th out of 335 finishers in a time of 19:16.
