St Neots’ unbeaten professional boxer Tommy Martin is stepping up to six rounds for his seventh fight which will take place in Peterborough on Saturday, March 8.
Since turning pro last year, Martin’s record stands at six fights, six wins, two by stoppage, including the sensational first round stoppage of Waqas Ahmed on his last outing at Stevenage Arts & Leisure in November.
Also on the bill will be the Chatteris boxer Jordan Gill who will go into the fight on the back of a 36 second first round knockout of Aaron Flinn back in October.
Headlining at the Cresset is the British Masters Gold Light Middleweight Championship bout between the TRAD TKO fighter Freddie Turner and Bolton’s Chris ‘Twinny’ Jenkinson.
Martin, 18, who is part of trainer Johnny Eames TKO stable, is also sponsored by co-promoters Junction 17 Motors.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Martin. “I’m ready to show my fans what I can do again but this time in a six-round contest. I have been doing some quality sparring with Mitchell Smith and doing six and eight rounds so I know I am fit enough and it’s another fight close to home so it will be great all my fans there. I am hoping my Team Gun army sell the place out.
“I have some great fans locally and in the Essex and London areas and I hope they will be able to make the trip too.”
