Tim Willis delivered a man-of-the-match performance for the second successive season as Ramsey retained the Gifford T20 Cup last night.
Willis claimed 5-9 to inspire his side to a six-wicket success against Godmanchester at Cricketfield Lane.
Willis’ exploits, along with those of Kasim Ikhlaq, who took 3-19, ensured Godmanchester were dismissed for just 78 in 16 overs.
And Ramsey cruised past that tally with more than seven overs to spare thanks to 24 from Taylor West and 20 from Michael Cafferkey. Godmanchester bowler Elliot Baldwin took 2-12.
Ramsey and Godmanchester were, disappointingly, the only two teams to enter the competition this season.
Waresley, Warboys and Huntingdon & District had all been involved in a league format in the previous two seasons, but could not commit to playing in the current campaign.
