St Ives Golf Club have successfully ended a 22-year wait for glory in the Grace Norman Trophy.

The local ladies lifted the Cambridgeshire Inter-Club Foursomes prize when the latter stages were held recently at St Neots GC.

They followed up a semi-final success over The Cambridgeshire by beating Abbotsley by the same 2-1 scoreline in the final.

Paul Ewing and Geraldine Fleming were beaten 1 down in the opening match but that was cancelled out by a 5 & 3 success for the duo of Julie Walter and Sue Anderson.

The decisive victory was then provided by Kathy Cooper and Patricia Whittimore who closed out a 3 & 2 triumph to clinch the trophy.
