SAWTRY youngster Sean Griffin has been busy making a striking impression on the international tenpin bowling stage.
He represented Wales at the U19 boys Triple Crown in Scotland, winning a bronze medal in the team event with William Wan, Thomas John, Ain Rae and Alex Fairclough.
Griffin then bowled in the Junior Welsh Open, taking top spot in the U19 Open. He followed that by representing Wales in the YAC Triple Crown and winning three medals.
First was a bronze in the singles, with a score of 1237 points over six games, before winning a silver medal in the Trios with Wan and James Footner. He then claimed another bronze in the five-man team event with Wan, Footner, Fairclough and Mike Hurst.
Griffin's next big test will be in Belgium, from October 31 until November 2, an event in which he took silver last year. He is looking for sponsorship to help pay for travelling and accommodation, and can be contacted on 07770 864877.
