SWIMMING: Major double for Bethan and a mighty collection of medals for Ciara provides success for St Ives

St Ives Swimming Club talent Bethan Endicott produced the biggest performance of her career last weekend.
The 12 year-old won two age-group medals at the big Level 1 Open Meet at Ponds Forge, in Sheffield.
She clocked a new county record of 29.93 when winning the 50m butterfly and also took silver thanks to a 1.09.70 swim in the 100m butterfly.
Ciara Taylor racked up a terrific haul of nine medals in the Corby Open Meet.
The 13 year-old struck gold in the 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle, bagged silver in two 200m individual medley events and the 50m breaststroke, and earned bronze in two 100m backstroke events as well as the 100m freestyle.

Fellow St Ives swimmers Olivia Smith (50m butterfly and 50m freestyle), Grace Iddon (400m freestyle), Luke Tunstall (200m butterfly), Toby Offord (50m breaststroke) all won bronze medals.
Fran Crocker, Amy Coleman, Harry Everett and Georgia Sprawson all reached finals. Alfie Reeve, Barney Edwards, Keira Mavin, Anna Desborough, Ewan Desborough, Tiernan Stevenson, Rosie Stevenson, Millie Taylor, Rosanna Brooke, Harper Jackson, Ollie McNeill, Ben McNeill, Alfie Everett, William Coleman, Joshua Marshall, Isabella Marshall, Stanley Clark, William Clark, Sian Woods, Mia Woods, Anna Freeman, Issy Hemingway Stark, Oliver Dickson and Elliot Dickson also delivered excellent performances for St Ives. Many of them were competing in a 50m pool for the first time.
