Four First Strokes Godmanchester talents captured eight medals between them at the recent Jeanne Barker July Open.

The meet, laid on by the City of Cambridge club, attracted swimmers from four different counties and provided a tough standard of competition.

Chloe Butler was the most prolific First Strokes member as she collected three medals as 12yrs girls' level, winning silver in the 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke, and adding bronze in the 50m freestyle.

Jessica Spavins confirmed her status as one of the leading breaststroke performers in the area with a medal double of gold over 50m and silver at 100m in the 11yrs girls' bracket.

Nia Baird produced a terrific swim to take 50m freestyle gold in the 12yrs girls' section with a time that would have beaten many competitors in the 13yrs and 14yrs categories, while Freddie Spavins added silver in the 9yrs boys' 50m backstroke and bronze in the 50m freestyle when starring in his first open meet.
