Kian Lee was a double-winner as Huntingdon Piranhas competed in the ‘B’ Final of the Junior Fenland League last Saturday.
Lee won 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke races at 9yrs and under level in the showpiece gala held at the Manor Leisure Centre, in Whittlesey.
He was responsible for half of Piranhas victories on the night with Isaac Lawrence (50m breaststroke at 10yrs and under) and Alice Lawrence (13yrs and under 50m butterfly) also enjoying success.
The club collected eight second places thanks to Beatrice Pauley, Amelia Roberts, Eleanor Drinkwater, Owen Gore, Alice Lawrence, Dominic Pauley and Josh Trinidad, while the squad of 15 Piranhas swimmers managed 20 personal bests between them.
Others to feature for the club were Will Coggins, Alex Allen, Michael Drinkwater, Matt Coggins, Jorja Babcock and Ciara Walshe.
Piranhas finished fifth in an event won by Thetford. Another local club, First Strokes Godmanchester, took third place when appearing in the ‘B’ Final for only the second time.
Max Webb, Jodie Elliott, Katy Lloyd, Isobel Mather, Oliver Pendered, Freddie Spavins, Lily Bolam, Euan Clark and Liam Conway all recorded wins.
Other smart swims came from Annie High, Lily High, Nia Baird, Millie Wells, Jessica Spavins, Ella Pauffley, Tom Barnard, Oliver Bolam, David Keene, Alex Jenkins, Riley Hall, Aidan Clark, Kerry McCloy and Rory Webb.
