A PACKED gallery of proud parents watched swimmers from Westfield Junior School win first place in the 2007 Cambs Primary School Relay Championships.
Six schools from across the county competed in the finals of the event, held annually at the St Ivo pool in St Ives.
The Championship format involved boys and girls aged 11-and-under swimming freestyle and medley relay events.
The St Ives School was represented by four boys and five girls - and they exceeded expectations by winning all their heats, beating schools from Godmanchester and Stukeley Meadows into the minor placings.
The team's superb effort delighted their teacher-coaches Mark Dickinson and Caroline Rendall as they claimed victory.
The squad was: Megan Pritchard, Alexandra Rawlin, Caitlin Roberts, Ellen Ward, Georgia Winson-Pearce, Oliver Cook, James Hyde, Daniel Naylon and Luke Watson.
