The best of the weekend’s action from the Huntingdonshire junior football scene

STUKELEY MEADOWS

MEADOWS U12s recorded perhaps their best result of the season - holding 156-goal Hundon Hawks to a 1-1 home draw.

The visitors' incredible goal tally was achieved in their previous 20 league matches, but they only managed one in this game, equalising to cancel out Jordan Thrift-Sommers' opener for Stukeley.

ALCONBURY

THE U16s kept their promotion push on track by earning a point from a thrilling 5-5 draw at Stretham Sporting.

The visitors came from behind three times with goals from Chris Alban, Ryan Smith and Tom Hughes - who hit a hat-trick for the second week running.

Blues U10s had Matthew Harvey and Jacob Pack on the scoresheet as they drew 2-2 at Priory Parkside H - for whom Jack Fairbrother and Alex Harris netted.

A superb fight back saw Alconbury U12 Girls recover from a goal down to beat Comberton 2-1, with Lucy Ramsaran bagging both.

Alconbury Reds U9s racked up double figures in their game at Little Paxton, with Jack Goodyear's four goals the highlight in a 10-1 win.

A hat-trick from Jack Nottage, two for George Bush and a goal from Thomas Martin completed the tally with a solitary Paxton reply from Oscar Port.

RAMSEY COLTS

EIGHT goals were scored in an action-packed 4-4 draw between Rams' U13 and Priory Parkside.

James Tortice, Connor Beaumont, Dean Worrall and Fred Jones scored for Ramsey.

Elsewhere, Matt Worrall scored twice, while Rowan Dowlutt, Josh Eyre and Tenday Mariake also found the net as Ramsey U15s defeated Hemingford 6-3.

GODMANCHESTER ROVERS

TABLE-TOPPING Goddy U13A put six past Ely Crusaders and conceded just once in reply.

Ellis Ogle (2), Ashley Hehir (2), Ben Keating and George Mead grabbed the goals.

The result came a week after they leapfrogged Cambridge Celts following a 7-2 win - Ogle (4) and Hehir (3) shared the goals between them in that game.

Second half goals from Elkanah Sibanda, Chris Kaye, Sean Olley and Haydon Noble sent the U14A side to a convincing 4-0 win at Withersfield.

The U14B team, meanwhile, were 3-1 winners at Walden Wanderers, Matthew Pates and Kyle Knightingill (2) had their shooting boots on.

Goddy's U11s, despite goals from Arjun Basra and Tanashe Takewira, were on the wrong end of a heavy 7-2 scoreline at the hands of March.

ST IVES RANGERS

GOALS in each half from Thomas Johnson fired Rangers U12A to a 2-1 win over Milton Colts.

At U14 level, Rangers cruised to an impressive 6-1 win at Fulbourn Falcons.

The hosts were ahead initially, but Bradley Smith (2), Kieran Price (2), Scott Pepper and Shay Gaynor ensured a comfortable success on the road for Ives.

KC COUGARS

A HOTLY contested match at Ely Crusaders went the way of Cougars U15s 2-1 courtesy of goals in each half from James Belbin and Joe Postins.

PRIORY PARKSIDE

A TOM Berrill goal could not prevent Priory U12 from a 3-1 home defeat by Lakenheath.

Priory U9D let slip a 2-0 half time lead as they eventually went down 4-2 against Priory U9F.

Bradley Emmett and Josh Osborne scored in the first half but, with only seven players to choose from in the second half, the U9D side tired and were unable to hang on.

Josh Manton scored for Priory U8s in their narrow 2-1 defeat against Bluntisham.

HUNTINGDON ROWDIES

A TREBLE from Lui Carnell, Jamie Turner's brace along with sole efforts from Tommy Dear and Thomas Garcia helped the Rowdies U7s to victory at Bluntisham Blasters.

Rowdies U12 defeated Warpole Warriors 8-1 thanks to goals from Danny Graves and Robbie Bennett as well as a Jake McFarlane hat-trick, Billy Jenings' brace and an own goal.

Meanwhile, despite Rowdies U16s' having to play the majority of their home match with against Soham Town Colts with 10 men, they still ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.

Soham took the lead, but goals from Harvey Phillips, Harvey Kitchin and Liam Gaynor sealed a well-earned victory.

For the U13s, Nathan Dawson bagged four and Connor Lewis three in their 8-0 triumph over West Wratting Youth.

Tom Bartlett had earlier opened the scoring for the Rowdies.

HEMINGFORD COLTS

A MID-TABLE clash between Hemingford U16 and Bottisham went the way of the former 3-2.

Ryan Walker and captain Lewis Besley (2) scored for the winners, who held off a Bottisham barrage in the second half, with keeper Matty Crossland pulling off an excellent last minute save to preserve the win.

WARBOYS

EDWARD Cox, Alastair Clark and Mathew Tortice were among the goals for Warboys U7 Red in their game against Somersham.

James Gould, Callum Squire and Adam Brown (2) ensured Buckden Juniors U10 White ran out 4-1 winners at Huntingdon Rowdies.

ST NEOTS

SAINTS U10 Sky slipped to a narrow 1-0 reverse at Royston Town Hearts in their final game of the season.

There was better luck though for the U10 Navy side who, thanks to a Ben Sainsbury goal, were 1-0 winners at Royston Town Youth Diamonds.

Neots U14s completed the double over Fairlands Youth with a resounding 4-0 win on the road.

Lewis Davis and Shai Delamare bagged a brace a piece on the day to seal the win.
