Big Ryan Frater is on his way back to St Neots Town.

The commanding central defender has agreed a return from Southern League Premier Division rivals Biggleswade.

Frater departed during the summer but has remained on the radar of Saints chief David Batch who said: “To be honest we didn’t want Ryan to leave at the start of the season and I don’t really think he wanted to go either.

“It was one of those things that happened, but we’re all happy to have him back at the club now.”

Frater’s return comes at a good time as Saints are so short of defensive options that they had to field club analyst Ben Jones at right-back in their derby success against Cambridge City on Wednesday night.

St Neots face two tough away tests in the coming days. They go to third-placed Redditch tomorrow and second-placed Leamington on Tuesday.
