A BRAWL which broke out between the players of St Neots Town and Stotfold last month has seen both clubs hit with hefty fines.

The United Counties League match at Stotfold on March 8 has to be abandoned before half time after players from both sides took part in a free-for-all melee.

The UCL committee has fined both clubs a total of £715 - £500 for misconduct, £200 for forcing the match to be abandoned and £15 for violations of the technical area.

Both clubs were also warned as to their future conduct and informed that any repeat of the incident may lead to expulsion from the league.

The match will be replayed on Thursday, April 24, kick-off 7.45pm with an extra official in attendance and gate receipts for the game will be paid to the league's benevolent fund.
