St Neots Town have completed the signing of a defender who has played League One football.
Shane Blackett has joined the ambitious Premier Plus Stadium club from Southern League Premier Division rivals Dunstable Town.
Blackett, who is likely to make his Saints debut when they host Cirencester tomorrow on his 33rd birthday, has been a long-time target of the club.
Boss David Batch said: “We originally wanted to bring in Shane at the back end of last season and we spoke to him in the summer.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t work anything out at that time, but we’ve now been able to do a deal.
“We feel it is the right move to make and will strengthen our defensive options considerably.”
Blackett played in League One and League Two during a two-and-a-half year spell at Peterborough earlier in his career. He has also played extensively at National League level for Dagenham & Redbridge and Luton.
