St Neots Saints are in seventh heaven ... but they’re still not completely happy.
The table-topping side extended their flawless winning run in Midlands Division Four (East) to seven matches with a 22-10 success at Lincolnshire side Bourne last Saturday.
But that alone was not enough to please skipper Phil Sandling who admitted some areas of the Saints’ performance were not good enough as they powered 10 points clear at the top of the standings.
Sandling said: “It was obvious that Bourne were up for this game and we were a little bit off our best.
“There were plenty of moments when we showed why we are unbeaten so far this season and we did enough to get the bonus point win, but we set our standards very high and we will look at what we’ve learned from this game and we will work hard in training to make sure we are better next time out.”

Saints got off to the perfect start as a routine honed on the training ground worked to fine effect and culminated in Adam Peel bursting through a gap to score.
Peel then turned provider to release Luke Warburton, who sprinted over in the corner, to score a second try, but Bourne came back strongly and some fine defensive work from Cameron Howson and Curtis Weaver was required to keep them at bay.

The hosts did kick a penalty to open their account but they were further behind when Peel raced under the posts to claim his second try, converted by Joe Woodgate, before the break.
Peel completed his hat-trick in the second period after being picked out by a long Adam Porter pass before Bourne eventually succeeded in scoring a try of their own in the closing stages following an interception.
Saints are back in action on December 6 when they entertain a Brackley side only beaten once so far this term.
