St Neots III 19 Newmarket III 12
ST NEOTS hosted Newmarket on Saturday and the first half saw few points. The Saints were thwarted by the visitors several times and made the first mistake to allow Newmarket to score first with an unconverted try. St Neots had to force the pressure and Newmarket eventually broke with full back Dan Miller getting a try and fly half Mick Cleary converting to put the Saints ahead at the interval.
The visitors made an error at the start of the second half and almost let in the Saints, and soon after Neil Rook added another try which was converted by Mick Cleary. St Neots began to dominate the scrum but some defensive kicking and complacency allowed the visitors to score and convert to move within two points of equalising. Flanker Ross Donald ran at Newmarket after they were penalised from the kick off and scored wide on the left for a final score of 19-12.
