ST NEOTS continued their impressive run with a hard fought win against Bedford Pakistanis. Having won the toss and chosen to bat St Neots lost regular wickets to the lively visitors' attack with only Clive MacDonald (30) offering any real resistance.
At 99 for 8 it was left to a spirited effort by the tail, Darren Podgorski (18), Paul Childerley (8) and Chris Simms (18) to see The Saints to a respectable looking 143. The visitors looked well poised at 72 for 3 with plenty of overs to go before skipper Mark Spavins took three wickets for 42 runs and Paul Childerley took four for 23 to rip through the middle order and tail to see St Neots home to a 19-run win.
n St Neots' cup run ended on Wednesday with a comprehensive defeat by Premier League side Westfield, Saints managed only 62, which the visitors chased down for the loss of only four wickets.
