The next generation of super St Ives Swimming Club talent was in the spotlight last Saturday night.
And the club’s ‘15 and under’ squad didn’t disappoint as they finished second in the final round of the Anglian League at Boston to secure overall silver medals.
Cattie Whitworth, Georgia Newstead, Connie Newstead, Katie Warren, Emma Fitt, Sophie Turner, Becky Keene, Bethan Endicott, Lucas Dove, Brandon MacDonald, Toby Offord, Evan Taylor, Harry Everett, Matt Hall and James Quinn all swam superbly for St Ives as they faced opposition from Boston A, Boston B, Wisbech, West Norfolk and Thetford teams.
The St Ives contingent claimed 10 race victories, seven runners-up finishes and three third places between them from 31 events. The club also won the mixed cannon relay by three-tenths of a second.
Next up for the St Ives youngsters is the opening round of the Arena National League at Wellingborough on October 8.
