Captain Ryan Withers wants his players to make the most of a quick opportunity for revenge tomorrow.
Withers was disappointed to see his side beaten in a game he felt they dominated last Saturday.
A batting collapse and a couple of dropped catches proved costly as the Tucker Gardner League Division Two table-toppers were pipped by one wicket at Fordham.
St Ives’ posting of 237 - which included 72 from Nikhil Kumpukkal – was eclipsed by the home side with 11 balls to spare.
The two teams meet again tomorrow when Withers will hope for a different outcome.
Withers said: “We dominated 80 per cent of the game, but lost it.
“We paid the price for not batting out our 50 overs and losing our final six wickets for 12 runs after being in a really good position at 222-5.
“We can’t make that mistake again as we should have had a score of close to 300 on the board. Fordham would not have been able to get close to that.
“We also dropped their two highest-scorers which was disappointing as our fielding is normally first-class.
“But we still took 18 points from a game we lost which is only six less than you get for a win.
“It keeps us top of the table and we have a quick chance to put it right.”
St Ives are 10 points clear of closest challengers March in the table.
