The Huntingdon-based racer scored seven points from five rides when competing as a wildcard in the Danish SGP. That left him a single point short of a semi-final place at the CASA Arena in Horsens. Bjerre was last in first outing, but then roared to a terrific victory in his second ride when reigning champion Greg Hancock was among the riders in behind. A second place in his next race kept Bjerre in contention to reach the latter stages, but an exclusion in his fourth outing proved costly. Bjerre was thrown out by referee Craig Ackroyd after a tangle which left another Danish rider, Peter Kildemand on the deck. Bjerre then completed his night with another second place in his final appearance. He now turns his attention to challenging for glory in the Speedway European Championship, which starts in Poland on Friday. And Bjerre has also been named in the Danish team for the World Cup at the beginning of next month.
