BRAMPTON Spartans U7s played in the second round of the Cambridge FA Tournament at the weekend, winning both their games to book their place in the next round.

In the first match, Spartans took on Burwell Tigers, taking a 6-3 win after a good performance.

Spartans pressured from the kick-off, with Tom Snare scoring early-on.

The Tigers equalised soon after but Snare restored the lead with his second goal, before Art Lucas added another.

Harry Wood scored straight after before William Dines-Allen added another to put Brampton comfortably ahead.

Tigers rallied with a goal soon afterwards but Dines-Allen scored his second to restore Brampton's cushion.

Tigers hit back with another in the dying minutes, but by then Brampton had sealed the win.

In their second match, Brampton beat Cambourne Rovers 5-1 in an impressive display.

Despite having to defend early-on, Spartans took the opening goal through Snare.

Wood then chipped the keeper to double the advantage.

Dines-Allen then came close before Cambourne nearly scored on the counter.

Ross Sales cleared the ball, which found Dines-Allen who went on a solo run to score Brampton's third.

Rovers came back with a goal but another goal from Dines-Allen cancelled it out soon after.

Cambourne came close after that, but their match was summed up when they scored an own-goal late-on.

GODMANCHESTER Rovers U12As rounded off their season with an emphatic 8-1 win over Spartak 78.

Neither side could get the upper-hand in the first half, with the teams going into the break with one goal apiece.

Rovers came out determined in the second half, scoring an impressive seven more goals to take the win.

Jamie Crook and Chris Osborne scored a brace apiece while Ryan Palmer, Jack Harwood, Omar Ickin and MoM Rick Knaepel scored the others.

Harwood took the Manager's Player of the Season award after the game, with Osborne taking the Players' Player award and Marwan Hassan picking up the Most Improved Player award.

GODDY U10Bs met St Neots Saints for a friendly fixture, coming away disappointed after a 5-0 defeat.

Goddy played with spirit, but just couldn't find their way past the Saints defence.

Harley Green narrowly missed scoring after a spectacular side-on shot set up by Jake Burill and Tim Gladding.

MoM was captain Jason Haslop for his solid defending.

The Kimberley Cup was awarded to goalie Benedict Brien.
