DES Thresh strengthened his firm grip on the 2010 Kumho Tyres BMW championship after the latest round at Snetterton Park.
Leading the B Class and the overall championhip, Huntingdon racer Thresh put in two more classy drives to leave the Norfolk circuit with a three-point lead.
Things didn’t all go to plan as Thresh’s E36 M3 car developed gearbox problems after setting the fastest B Class time in qualifying on Saturday.
Thresh stripped the gearbox overnight and carried out the necessary repairs ready for racing on Sunday.
Race one on Sunday saw the BMW improve lap-by-lap and set the fastest time in class, helping Thresh to an eighth-place finish and first in class.
