Hunts AC star Shannon Flockhart picked up an Eastern Cross-Country Championships silver medal last Saturday.

Flockhart finished in a fine second place in the Under 15 Girls race as she covered the 4km distance in 14:26. She came in 12 seconds behind the winner after battling to keep a fast-finishing third-placed athlete at bay in the closing stages.

Karen Cameron finished 19th in 26:55 in the Senior Women's race over a 6km course. She then ran a 10.4-mile stage in the Hereward Relay event the following day when Hunts AC fielded a host of teams.

Their highest-placed quartet was Lee Brooks, Steve Church, Rod McKee and Simon Margot in 10th with a total time of 4:02:05.
