Rising Hunts AC star Shannon Flockhart added another title to her fast-growing collection last weekend.
Flockhart roared to victory in the Under 15 Girls’ 1,500m race at the Southern Counties Championships in Kent. She clocked a time of 4:40.36 at the event in Ashford to climb up to eighth in the national rankings for the event.
Flockhart’s training partner, Conall McGinness also enjoyed success as he picked up a silver medal in the Under 15 Boys’ 800m race. He produced a personal-best time of 2:06.66.
Rob Pocklington, who coaches the pair, said: “They have been very focused in their training and are now seeing the fruits of their efforts come to bear. There’s much more to come from both athletes.”
Flockhart is chasing more success this weekend when she represents Cambridgeshire in the South of England Inter-Counties Championships.
