PUPILS from Westfield Junior School in St Ives are celebrating successes at the Cambridgeshire Junior Schools Swimming Gala.
Westfield triumphed in three out of four events on the day, competing against schools from St Ives, Peterborough, Fenstanton, Godmanchester, Stukeley Meadows and Steeple Morden at the St Ivo Leisure Centre pool.
Boys freestyle relay team Thomas Davis, Andrew Davis, Jack Smith and Carl Johnson made up a two metre deficit on the final leg to grab first. Ollie Loia replaced Andrew Davis for the medley event which saw the boys clinch another win.
In the girls relay Jessica Texter, Megan Pritchard, Jade Powell and Samantha Wilbor combined to romp home in first position. The same quartet were pipped to the line in the medley by Godmanchester.
