Pete Boardman enjoyed a milestone moment when helping Brampton to Hunts League glory last Saturday.

The opening bowler showed he is also a handy customer with the bat when hitting a first-ever century in their Division Four triumph against Burghley Park 2nds.

Boardman dished out some brutal treatment of the visiting bowlers, thumping seven sixes and 11 fours in his innings of 107.

His exploits helped Brampton reach a season’s high of 221 before they removed Burghley Park 2nds for 144. Rob Jarvis led the way with 3-37 while Boardman was spared his usual role of opening the bowling.

It was also a day to remember for Hemingford Park as they collected a first victory of the season when slamming Blunham 3rds by 10 wickets.

The triumph came complete with some fine bowling figures (Callum Hale taking 3-3 from two overs and Russell Brown bagging 3-6 from seven overs as the visitors were skittled for 88) and a powerful batting display (Matt Wilson clobbered a dozen fours in an unbeaten 60 as victory was sealed in just 11 overs).

Little Paxton’s super siblings starred as they brushed aside Easton-On-The-Hill by 77 runs at the same level.

Troy Beavis bagged 6-26 and brother Reece claimed 4-21 as they dismissed the visitors for just 55.

Reece Beavis was also his side’s leading performer with the bat when making 40 and providing almost a third of the Little Paxton total of 129-9.

Chris Newton was another impressive bowler last Saturday. His 5-11 return ensured Warboys successfully defended their modest 120 to triumph by 20 runs against Peterborough side Hampton 2nds.

Captain Matt Lavender chipped in with 3-15 as his promotion-chasing side claimed a fourth successive victory.

Sawtry ace Hayden Bream hit a century yet still ended up on the losing side last Saturday.

Bream cracked a high-class 123 off 116 balls – an innings including 16 fours and two sixes – but his team fell to a seven-wicket loss at the hands of Biggleswade, who bettered their 233-4 with two-and-a-half overs to spare.

Harry Buddle was another excellent performer to taste defeat as his career-best figures of 5-24 came in a 68-run reverse for Ramsey 2nds at the hands of Hampton in Division One.

Eaton Socon 2nds continued their title challenge in the top-flight when beating Buckden by a single run in an all-local affair.

Matt Sharpe fell one run short of a half-century as Eaton Socon 2nds made it to 183-8 and fine bowling from Matt Taylor (4-31) and Ryan Vale (3-35) ensured that tally was just enough.

Buckden came up agonisingly short despite half-centuries from middle-order men Shiv Patel (61) and captian Lawrie Marsh (53). That duo put on 95 for the fifth wicket before Buckden suffered a collapse with the remaining wickets tumbling for the addition of only 32 runs.
