Reigning champions Ramsey roared back into the Tucker Gardner League Division One title picture in dramatic style yesterday.
Olly Verrall clubbed a six to guide them to victory over Waresley at Cricketfield Lane with one wicket remaining and two balls to spare.
Ramsey had been set a stiff target after Waresley piled up 230 despite five wickets from spinner Joe Barningham.
Tom Griffiths led the way for the visitors on 67 while opener Simon Donald and Jake Allcock added useful contributions of 43 and 41 respectively.
But Ramsey skipper Taylor West inspired a successful chase by returning from injury with a big-hitting 89.
West bashed eight fours and five sixes during an 86-ball knock before falling with Ramsey still nine runs short of victory, but final pair Dave Carlaw and Verrall finished the job.
Third-placed Ramsey remain heavily involved in the title race with the top three teams in the Division One standings covered by just seven points at the halfway stage of the season. They have, however, played a game more than the two teams above them.
Godmanchester were knocked off the top of the table after just one week.
Town slipped to second after being held to a draw by Histon for the second time this season.
