A KIMBOLTON schoolgirl has won a regional golfing championship held at Northampton Golf Club.
Fifteen-year-old Sarah Dawkins triumphed in the 2006 Northamptonshire under-18 Girls Championship event played over 18 holes. Rushden Golf Club member Sarah won the event with a round of 95, nett 59 over the par 72 course.
Sarah has been playing golf for two years and her handicap has been cut to 30 since her win.
She said: "I was really pleased to win especially because it was the first time I had ever broken 100. I'm hoping to reduce my handicap even further over the next few years.
