A Huntingdon judo player struck gold at a major event recently.
Rhys Sandford, who attends Kanazawa Judo Club at the Medway Centre, won the 60-70kg category at the first Kenshiro Abbe Senior Cup in Islington.
The tournament was supported by competitors from across the UK and across various judo organisations.
The emphasis during the event was on representing the Kyushindo style that Abbe founded.
