THIS squad of swimmers from St Ives were involved in a frantic finish at a hard-fought gala in Peterborough.
The 16-swimmer relay event saw Saints miss out to rivals Kettering by an agonising fingertip margin in the final race of the day.
The St Ives team ended the overall gala in second position, behind Kettering, but ahead of teams from Peterborough, Kings Lynn and Market Deeping.
The squad performed excellently in the relay races, with the boys' 13/14 squad winning twice, while the 11/12 and 15/16 age group each won one relay.
Coaches Sandra Brice and Simon Richards were impressed by their swimmers' outstanding efforts in taking a number of podium finishes.
