Manager Matt Clements wants two more signings to complete his St Neots Town squad.
The Saints chief is still to decide on who will occupy his goalkeeping berth for the new Southern League Premier Division Central season.
Clements has run the rule over former Pinchbeck shot-stopper Dan Swan and ex-Ely City man Harry Reynolds this summer, and he also has another option to explore.
Another outfield player is also expected to arrive before the curtain goes up on the new campaign at Stratford Town on August 11.
Clements told the Hunts Post: “We’ve looked at Dan and Harry during pre-season and it is clear both lads have the tools to be very good goalkeepers.
“We’re just dwelling on whether or not they have the consistency to step up and play regularly at our level right now, or whether they need to continue their development at a slightly lower level this season.
“There is another option that has become available to us in the last couple of days and that is something we have to consider very seriously.

“We’ll look to make a decision on the goalkeeping position very soon and we’re also hoping to bring in one more player – possibly on loan - early next week.
“We’re pretty happy with how the squad is shaping up, but feel we need a bit more competition in certain areas and a few lads need to be put under a bit of pressure.”
Clements has signed former Cambridge United youngsters Prince Mutswungama and Stevan Shaw, but they won’t be considered for first-team selection just yet. They are likely to be sent out to Step 4 or Step 5 sides to get regular football.
Godmanchester Rovers midfield man Tom Spark and former Bedford Town full-back Devante Stanley both appeared for Saints in their 2-2 friendly draw against Soham Town Rangers last Saturday.
They could also feature again tomorrow night (Thursday) in a behind-closed-doors fixture with the Northampton Town Under 23 side.
Saints then complete their pre-season schedule this Saturday when going to Mildenhall Town, who play in the Bostik North Division alongside Soham.
Saints have managed only one victory in pre-season – although four of their six summer outings have been against Football League clubs.
The success arrived at Step 5 side Haverhill Rovers last Tuesday. Mutswumbuma and Dylan Williams hit the goals in a 2-0 triumph.
Saints were then held 2-2 by Soham as the two sides exchanged quick double-strikes.
A deflected Claudio Ofosu effort and a Williams penalty in the first half were cancelled out by Soham goals in the second period from ex-Saints man Sam Mulready and Jon Kaye.
