First Strokes Godmanchester produced a pleasing performance when competing in the ‘A’ Final of the Junior Fenland League for the first time recently.

They finished fourth out of five competing teams at Boston with two swimmers managing individual victories.

Sophie Ryan triumphed in the 10yr girls 50m freestyle and Matthew Platts was successful in the same discipline for 12yrs boys. First Strokes also finished a creditable second in the closing relay.

The event was won by hosts Boston with 166 points. City of Peterborough ‘A’ and Wisbech shared second spot on 142 with First Strokes earning 92 points. City of Peterborough ‘B’ brought up the rear on 72.
