They racked up a third century of the season as they blitzed Bourne 108-10 on Saturday and secured a 14th successive Midlands Division Four East (South) triumph, wrapping up the silverware for the 100 per cent record-holders with four matches to spare. Jubilant Saints skipper Phil Sandling said: Racking up a ton to win the title is very satisfying. It was a special day to do it in front of so many of our supporters. Clinching the title with four games to spare is reward for the hard work that has been put in by a lot of people behind the scenes. We have taken each game as it comes and this has helped us to stay focused during training throughout the season. New players are coming in and fitting in instantly because of the environment we are building. I couldnt be more proud to be a part of what is happening here at St Neots Rugby Club. Adam Peel went over for the first two tries before Rob Turner scampered down the left to get in on the act. Luke Warburton started and finished the move which led to the fourth score. A penalty try followed before Turner dashed in for his second try and he then turned provider as Marcus Wale burst over as the Saints had 45 points on the board by the break. But even more were to follow in the second period with interval arrival Scott Hardimann setting the tone within seconds of the restart. Russ Munro added a fine individual effort to the Saints try collection before Lewis Hall bamboozled the Bourne defence with a dummy pass before touching down. Hall also kicked 14 of the 16 conversions he attempted. Flankers Cameron Howson and Matt Cartwright then joined the party with the latter going over from inside his own half before Grant Hobbs added his name to a 10-strong list of try-scorers. Wale and Warburton then added their second scores before Peel completed his hat-trick to provide the icing on a spectacular Saints cake. St Neots will be chasing another success when they entertain Northampton side Sileby Town on Saturday. And they could make it an honours double having reached the final of the Hunts and Peterborough Cup later in the season.
